Now that we are in another round of lockdowns, and the future is looking increasingly bleak, many of us are turning to our screens for comfort.  But can we trust what we are seeing?  If you bombard the brain with enough of the same reinforcing information, it will begin to believe what it is viewing.  One of my favourite authors, Ellen G White wrote “By beholding we become changed”[i]  And it seems logical that just as with our computers, if we key garbage data in, we will receive garbage printouts.   So it is with our brains; if we keep viewing the same images, information, ideas, opinions, and reports, we will tend to shape our world to fit that data.

For example, in action movies when people jump off a high building and defy gravity by travelling horizontally to an ad
