Having recently watched the Netflix documentary ‘The Last Days’ charting the plight of Hungarian Jews transported to Auschwitz concentration camp during the last year of the Second World War, I understand the necessity for us to keep reminding ourselves of the atrocity of Hitler’s Final Solution.  By 1945, Hitler knew Germany could not win the war and would very soon have to surrender.  Instead of capitulating, he ordered the escalation of the rounding up, transport to concentration camps, and murder of the Jews, and diverted all resources to the task of obliterating them.   It was at this time that Hitler turned his attention to the Hungarian Jews, who had thought themselves safe from the slaughter.  In Hitler’s final written statemen
