At this year’s Academy Awards ceremony (The Oscars), Tyler Perry was recognised for his humanitarian activities and gave an inspiring acceptance speech.  He told of his everyday experience of giving to those in need right where he lives in Atlanta Georgia, USA.  Our obligation to stop standing on the periphery of life nursing our individual bones of contention and judging the world from a standpoint of suspicion.   The necessity for us all to ‘meet in the middle’ to sort out our differences and begin a dialogue of understanding.  All laudable goals to aspire to.  But the one thought that struck me most was his own personal mantra.  Tyler said “I refuse to hate.”
